James Hamilton Academy

James Hamilton Academy is a non-denominational, co-educational, comprehensive school, which means that it is open to all boys and girls who live in the area which the school serves. A few parents living outside this area exercise their right, under the Education Act, to send their children to James Hamilton Academy.

Accommodation is extensive in 4 blocks with adjacent playing fields.

Every child of school age has the right to a school education provided by an education authority (Standards in Scotland’s Schools etc. Act 2000). Our aim in James Hamilton Academy is to provide a balanced and stimulating curriculum, which will challenge our pupils to achieve their best and, at the same time, develop their personalities, talents, mental and physical abilities to their fullest potential.
